Another big cat who resided at the big cat sanctuary but has sadly now passed away. Cheetahs are Africa’s most endangered wild cat. There are estimated to be only 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild today.

"Amasia"

A big Cat Sanctuary resident, Amasia is an Amur Tiger which are currently on the red list for endangerment.  

The main threats to the wild Amur tiger population are very similar to those facing other big cat species; loss of habitat, poaching for the fur trade and the use of tiger body parts in the traditional medicine trade.
